Good luck ninjas
March 12th, 2009 by alison
Before I left for Europe back in August a friend of mine gave me a pink ninja as a good luck charm for the trip. I’m not a big believer in good luck charms but I carried it with me for those 4 months. Then last week right before I left for India another friend, without any knowledge of the pink ninja, gave me a yellow ninja for good luck.

Reading Go, Dog, Go for the 3rd time in a row with my 3 year old sister:
What’s this?
A dog.
And this?
Another dog.
And this one?
Dog.
This one?
They’re all dogs!
What about this one?
Everything on this page is a dog.
Oh yes! …And this one?
While making ramen with my 5 year old brother:
How do you make it?
You put it in boiling water.
Why does the water have bubbles?
It’s boiling.
What is bowiling?
When the water bubbles because it gets really hot.
Why is the water getting higher?
That’s the bubbles.
How long does it take to cook?
A few minutes.
Why are you tasting it.
To see if it’s ready.
Is it ready?
No.
What color is the chicken flavor?
Yellow.
Why?
That’s just the color it is.
Where is the burner?
The thing it’s cooking on.
NOOO, where do you turn it on?
This knob.
Why does it get red?
Because you ask too many questions.
Dolphins

Yesterday, while in the middle of eating a salad at Repos beach cafe, I was suddenly inspired to get up and go for a quick swim before resuming my meal. I left my plate and my friends and went out for a swim. An Indian family came by in their boat and extended a hand to pull me onboard. Naturally I accepted and we proceeded to find ourselves surrounded by at least twenty dolphins, all around us, leaping out of the water and nuzzling each other. We hung out with them for 10 or 15 minutes and then the family dropped me at the shore and I returned to my salad.
